As a Development Intern, you will provide support to Praava Health’s fundraising activities. Specifically, you will be responsible for helping Praava identify potential sources of grant funding and develop a sustainable plan for increasing grant revenue. Under the general direction from Directors and the CEO, you will: 

  • Research and identify prospective corporate, foundation and government grants for which Praava is eligible (as a for-profit company), both within Bangladesh and internationally. Identify grants that align with Praava’s impact story and value proposition. 

  • Conduct analysis to determine which funders are likely to fund Praava; help narrow funding targets and develop a database of grants for which Praava is eligible (including funding type, proposal process, reporting requirements, grant management requirements, and deadlines).  

  • Help identify funding needs and position Praava’s impact story to align with funding goals. 

  • Assess and recommend which grants Praava should pursue, based on income goals, feasibility, timing and the needed level of effort to manage the grant. 

  • In collaboration with Medical Services, Business Innovation, and Finance teams, develop materials and supporting documents for grant proposals. 

  • Identify operational needs to successfully manage grants should they be awarded, and work with Operations team to set up needed infrastructure. 

  • Assist with other fundraising projects as needed. 

This is an opportunity to help shape a new model of care in Bangladesh, together with the Praava family, including doctors, nurses, health coaches, laboratory and diagnostic staff, and senior leadership.


The Development Intern is a current student or a recent graduate from a top business or public health school with a passion for global health and an analytical skillset. You also demonstrate:

  • Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive proposals. 

  • Strong analytical skills, specifically related to fundraising prospect research.

  • Knowledge of fundraising information sources and basic fundraising techniques. 

  • Experience working in healthcare settings is a plus.

  • Understanding of value-based healthcare concepts is especially attractive.

  • Ability to listen with empathy and to communicate with respect when interacting with health care professionals and Patients.

  • Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
